Joslyn Rose Lyons is a filmmaker, director, producer and writer.

Joslyn Rose Lyons has directed and produced a diverse range of work for more than a decade in film and television, including shows for HBO, BET, OWN, Discovery Channel and Vh1. In her creative treatment for the video campaign "Beautiful", Joslyn directed an in-studio acoustic performance with RCA recording artist Mali Music and women such as "The Game"'s Wendy Raquel Robinson, "Being Mary Jane's" Brely Evans, and casting director Robi Reed, were enlisted to represent such a positive message, as noted in Rolling Stone Magazine, the video defined 'What it means to be beautiful'.

Joslyn's films have debuted at the HBO Urbanworld Film Festival, London Raindance, Black International Cinema Berlin, and Los Angeles International. She won Best Music Documentary for her first feature documentary film “Soundz of Spirit” (Common, Andre 3000, Cee-Lo Green) at the New York International and her work has been recognized by The International Museum of Women and FOX Studios.

Joslyn was given a directors seat at Simmons Lathan Media Group. As a 'Def Jam filmmaker' she directed the HBO Def Poetry pilot series for new media platforms. What’s more, she has directed numerous music videos including Talib Kweli’s "Cold Rain" which was named #1 video on, as well as being the first female director for E-40, including her black and white visual for his video "Fast Lane", and her directorial treatment for Droop-E ("N The Traffic") where she brought a "1930's slow motion, Harlem Nights feel" as noted by Mass Appeal. Her eclectic visuals for "Frozen Hearts" a Chad Hugo (N.E.R.D.) produced single for "The Quarry" in which Hugo samples Angelina Jolie's Governors Awards Speech, she creates a series of intimate narrative vignettes and "where things aren’t quite as they seem" as noted by The Fader Magazine.

Joslyn directed and produced the First Music Matters Grammy Showcase at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Los Angeles, working with an array of new musical talent and directing the live multi-cam showcase for BET. She has contributed to documentaries including "The Message" (BET), "Miss Representation" (Oprah Winfrey Network), "Agents of Change" (Danny Glover).

Joslyn co founded the multi-faceted Museum of Light, which included curated digital content with The Grammy Museum, BARS at The Public Theater NYC and featured Michelle Williams, Peter Coyote, and Grammy Award Winning musician Robert Glasper. Joslyn directed and produced the 2017 BET Celeb Basketball Game with Chris Brown and Nick Cannon.

Joslyn is a producer on documentaries including “Tale of the Tape” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean, to films such as “Stay Woke” with  Barbara Lee and “Waging Change” with Jane Fonda, and (R)evolution with Ice Cube. Joslyn recently directed a 2019 branded content series of scripted and unscripted content for Striver’s Row. She is also producing a new television series for LeBron James digital Platform Uninterrupted Hosted by Matt Barnes, featured guests include Marshawn Lynch and 2Chainz. Joslyn is currently in-production on several documentary films including, "Tale of The Tape" (Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, J. Cole) and "Tale of Four Cities" (gentrification in New Orleans, Oakland, Brooklyn, and Inglewood), “Waging Change” with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Van Jones, and “Stay Woke” with Barbara Lee.
