Joslyn Rose is an Emmy®-nominated director, award-winning filmmaker, producer, and writer working across both narrative and non-fiction storytelling. Her work spans scripted films, documentaries, and digital series, with films featured on Showtime, Paramount, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Starz, and Lionsgate. Her projects have premiered at festivals including Sundance, Essence, and Urbanworld. She was named a finalist for the Academy Gold Women's Fellowship under the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Joslyn's feature-length studio directorial debut, Stand (Showtime/Paramount+), an Emmy®-nominated documentary, explores the extraordinary journey of activist and basketball prodigy Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. The film features Steph Curry, Mahershala Ali, Ice Cube, Shaquille O'Neal, and others, and was nominated for a Sports Emmy® Award for Outstanding Feature Length Documentary.

Her narrative short films have earned international acclaim, premiering at prestigious festivals including Sundance London. Her work has received numerous honors, including Best Short at the American Film Awards, Best Female Director from Top Shorts, and Best Director at the LA Independent Women Film Awards. Her films feature acclaimed actors including Hill Harper in Butterfly Boxing, Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali in Umi’s Heart, and Blair Underwood in The Listeners, which features original music by No I.D. and Jon Batiste. The Listeners also earned her the Best Director award at the LA Independent Filmmaker Showcase.

Joslyn's has directed and produced music and social justice projects featuring Common, President Barack Obama, Megan Thee Stallion, Nick Cannon, and Snoop Dogg. Her credits include collaborations with Uninterrupted, BET, and the documentary Tale of the Tape, featuring J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.

Joslyn has been invited as a guest speaker by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for its Gold Rising program and has served as a judge for both the Emmy® Awards and the Webby Awards. She is a member of Women in Film (WIF) and the Alliance of Women Directors. She has guest-hosted at USC's School of Cinematic Arts and, through Starz's Take The Lead initiative, curated panels amplifying underrepresented voices in entertainment.
